~ Princess of Bellydance ~ Shahzaadee is a performer and instructor of bellydance and has introduced so many to
the art of bellydance. She is the owner and operator of Colorful Waves Bazaar, providing supplies for bellydancers, mostly from
Turkey, Egypt, and India. She hosts/sponsors local dance events and performances. Shahzaadee is the founder and director of Colorful
Waves bellydance troupe.
Currently residing in Durham, North Carolina, she is originally from Bristol, Virginia. Shahzaadee began her dance studies in modern
jazz. She began International dance studies in 1990 when she met her first bellydance instructor Riscalla (Delores Matzen) and
folkloric dance instructor Pat Jessee. Since then, she has studied with numerous master dancers from around the globe.
Shahzaadee is an artist, expressing her love of creating beauty in many forms such as painting, drawing, sculpting, sewing and more.
In addition to all of this, she is also a practicing licensed cosmetologist. Her greatest motivator is the process of creating beauty.

Amara was introduced to bellydancing about six years ago and became a member of Colorful Waves in December
2006. She began dancing for fitness, but
soon realized how empowering it was. She studies
with local instructors and attends workshops as a way to improve her skills. Her passion and love for the artform
is seen through her dance. She has performed at many local events including haflas, private parties, weddings,
the Raleigh Drum Circle and the NC Renaissance Faire. Amara is a bellydance performer and teaches beginning bellydance
classes and workshops at her studio in Apex and also through the Cary Parks and Rec. In addition to being a dancer, Amara is a professional portrait and wedding photographer and owner of

Hiya-Sahra has been a bellydance performer since 2005. She joined the Colorful Waves Belly Dance Troupe
in December 2006. She enjoys many different styles of world dancing. Hiya-Sahra is an accomplished "Miami Style" Salsa Dancer and an Afro-Cuban Drummer. Her first drum CD,
"Heaven's Heart," is now available.

Kasha joined Colorful Waves in Sep 2008. Kasha started belly dancing in California by
studying with several amazing instructors including Patrisha of Visalia and Ely of
Central Valley. After she moved to Raleigh she combined her love of belly dance with her love of teaching. Kasha teaches several
classes a week at Lake Lynn Community Center and at her home studio in North Raleigh. Performing at family events around the area keeps
her students on their toes. “Whatever the problems of the day, they all go away when you dance.”

Yonca Yildiz has been bellydancing since 1998, and teaching since 2002. She joined Colorful Waves
in Sep 2008. She is originally from Boston, but starting studying Oriental Dance
while living in Georgia and attending the Savannah College of Art and Design. She was a featured performer for six years at the Casbah Moroccan
Restaurant in downtown Savannah, and has also performed in Chicago, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Yonca loves Egyptian style belly dance,
and also performs with zills and sword. She teaches weekly classes in Carrboro and performs regularly in the Triangle Area, in addition to
attending workshops and classes to continue her own dance education. When not belly dancing she enjoys cooking, reading, classic films, and
